i'm trying to get started with my coding and I CANT cuz this stupid thing isn't working....it was working but then i realized that i didn't pick a directory to save my database, so i had to start over and it won't work.

I am using MYSQL server 5.1 Instance configuration wizard, no matter how many times i uninstall, manually delete each folder, and re-install the **** software it refuses to the do the last step when i hit the execute button which is apply security settings. It keeps coming up with Error nr. 2003 Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost'(10061) along with Windows telling me that mysqld.exe stopped working and was closed.
I have tried every possible combination of configurations and nothing works.

please help someone.

Search c:\ for it. It may be in program files\MySQL but I am not sure.

could the problem be that the msqld (the mysql service) keeps unexpectedly stopping. whenever i manually start the service from the task manager i get the message saying "mysqld.exe stopped working and was closed"
