My buddy at work, John (Johnnyboy here on the forums), suggested that I joined LinkedIn. I was a bit hesitant at first since I'm against the social networking type sites (myspace, facebook) for no apparent reason. It took about 2 weeks after he suggested it for me to join.

After joining and setting up my profile it is obvious this is a professional social networking site. Instead of posting pictures of what I've done over the weekend or chatting it up with some random girls that have left a dirty comment on my profile I've been adding my work experience, education and general professional experience. On top of that you can join groups and I've found many groups for PHP (including one sponsored by Zend for Zend Certified Engineers only).

It seems like a great way to stay in touch with old colleagues and even find new job opportunities. Anyway, if you have a profile or ever create one I'd love to be connected with any CodeCall members. Search for 'Jordan DeLozier' and send me an invite.

**Note: I intended this as a blog but changed my mind mid-way through. I'm not going to waste a whole blog page about another site that isn't directly related to programming!

I was made aware of this site several weeks ago as well. I just haven't got around to registering. Maybe next weekend I will do so.

Let me know how much spam you start getting. This feels like a very obnoxious way for people to get at all that information I've worked hard to keep OUT of the public record. I posted my resume on monster.com and my spam went through the roof.
