I figured I hadn't done one of these so it is about time.
Hi, I'm Luke.
I'm from England, and graduated in Business and Management (BA Hons) with a 2.1 (just missed out a borderline 1st). After looking for jobs at a time when there is **** all. I've realised I want to do programming for a living. As not many companies are taking risks nowadays, they need a degree in an IT related discipline or computers science. I've decided to do a masters next year in Computer Science. Probably a generalist crossover course. So back to study for a year.
By that time I'll be pretty confident in C++ and will have learnt Java for the course chances are.
I started out in PHP, before that VB5 and IRC scripting, so I had a little but of coding in my past.
After learning the basics of C++, OOP, basics of WinAPI programming I have planned what I will learn in the upcoming year:
OpenGL
STL
Linux operating system and KDE
Multi Threading
File writing
As a result, I've splashed out on an STL book and plan to get an OpenGL book. My hunger and desire is surpassed by my utter frustration at not having a job.

Thanks for listening (or reading as the case may be),
LukeyJ :)
