Hello guys, my name is reckon. I love your forum, and I would like to participate in an intellectual forum filled with coders. I'm 14, and I want to learn a programming language. I've been searching about C++, and I think it would be a good start for me. It basically teaches you the core of programming, am I right? If so, are there any simple tutorials on getting started. I'm so inspired. Don't worry, I'm a total nerd when it comes to math, so variables etc. won't be any nuisance to me.
Thanks guy! I'll be checking this topic!:w00t:

It can be, it gets you into good habits early on. It's not the easiest language. But if you do go there it put you in good stead for programming in general. It is my weapon of choice and I think it's fantastic.
Advantages: High-horsepower, Efficient code (quicker than other languages), Flexibility to choose your own style
Disadvantages: Can be longwinded, programs will generally contain more lines of code, have to do more stuff... errr, can't think of much else, but I'm a c++ fan boy.
If you learn C++, learning anything else will become a lot easier, apart from assembly which is for the brave or clinically insane.
