Hello all,
I am basically a tinkerer when it comes to programming. I started out writing little games for my son on the Sinclair Spectrum. I have learned about C, C++, Small Talk OOP, asp, PHP, Cold Fusion, HTML, CSS, VB, javascript.
I have completely mastered . . . . none of 'em. I just seem to get just enough of a grasp to overcome whatever problem I had and then moved off to something else. I have retired from work now and don't have to rush around looking for solutions to problems so all I do now is for pleasure.
I hope by looking around these forums to learn more, I am sure I will learn more than I could teach hehehe.
Frank

Hello there,
I'm not sure I have a favourite but .. I got a web developers certificate after about 2 years working through it. Thats where I came accross client and server side scripting in a number of guises. I suppose I enjoyed usung cold fusion most because it seemed very simple at the time after struggling with one or two other languages. I found PHP a little trickier but the amount of documentation and support for PHP made life a fair bit easier.
In my job, before I retired I was into constructing databases, Microsoft unfortunately, but I really liked writing SQL queries for reports and VB scripts for the forms etc.
I only seem able to apply myself to one thing at a time though these days, my mind is like a sieve!! :)

Oh I haven't written anything resembling a game in over 20 years. I used to write reading, spelling and math games, little target shooting games and the like for my son when he was knee high. I used the Spectrum at first, then an Amiga 1500 with AMOS Professional, that was hard work as I recall, but it was all done for fun.

How did you go about finding CodeCall?
Started experimenting with Joomla CMS and wanted some sort of contact page. Started searching for ways of doing that and one link lead to another and eventually ended up here.
