I assumed this was the right section, since it says "discussing" rather then just "providing help".

To me, it seems that those people who say "C++ is hard" just seem to be spreading propaganda. Now, I haven't done any real advanced stuff in C++, say like make a 3D game, however I have done as far as doing GUI stuff. Is C++ really suppose to be that much harder then other languages?

What do you think? Hard or Propaganda?

C++ is a very large and complex language. You can remain in areas by which it can be simple, but on the whole it is quite big. So those that know only the tip of the iceberg often complain about the rest that they're not aware of (IMO).

Learning "everything" of C++ would be a nice career-long endeavor for some. But for those who use what's useful for their needs, knowing everything is not really necessary.

Brainfuck is hard, C++ is easy. LOL.

Honestly though, everyone that thinks C++ is hard just has problems understanding pointers and references, or, as dcs pointed out, are trying to learn something much too complex and advanced relative to their current knowledge of computer architecture and the language itself. Sure, it takes a little longer to learn and become fluent in C/C++ (as opposed to languages such as Python or Ruby), but in the end it's definitely worth having under your belt.

I haven't bothered with any GUI stuff (yet)... But I can't say I've come across anything difficult as of yet, and from my experience so far, I can't see it happening.

Everyone should learn Brainfuck as a first language.... I'm joking lol

i've reached to data structures in c++. It is not hard, i didnt have any problems. But when you compare it to python, visual basic, c#, java, etc, then you can say it is relatively difficult compared to others.

p.s. pardon my ignorance, but what is brainfuck (the name says it all lol) ? for what it is used ?
