Since our organization accelerates business applications across the distributed enterprise, we require some D2D backup repository to accelerate file backup and recovery.
Please suggest some rock-solid platform for maintaining backups on-line that can self manage large files like Web 2.0 rich media, video surveillance data.

I don't know of any services but here at CC we use a secondary dedicated server. All of the backups are PGP encryted and stored daily/weekly/monthly on the server (all automated). Our SVN repos all retain on the server. You may want to think about doing the same thing. You can also contact Justin (phpforfun on here) - he runs amphosted.com and would be willing to cut you a deal for online backups.

I use several services for backup; my place experienced a fire some years ago and since then I have been very careful to back up all files that are important to me. I don't want to lose everything again.

So in addition to copying everything to a USB drive and/or CD I use some online services. Many are free; for business use, you may have to pay a fee for extras.

ADrive (adrive.com) is good. You get 50 GB of storage space for free.

There are also Diino (diino.com), Xdrive (xdrive.com), Mozy (mozy.com/home), Microsoft's SkyDrive (skydrive.live.com), as well as many more.

Off site storage is the only way of backing up data. All of my information on my servers are backed up to a backup server nightly, then are transferred to my private server at home monthly (which is free storage for me to archive forever).

I would recommend paying for at least one of your backup solutions or having multiple backups incase of failures.

Justin is a great option for online backup space :)

Came across a new one today:

Livedrive

It is free for now, but looks like they will start charging for their service in 2009.

I backup stuff on various file sharing services, encrypted with my own variable-length key encryption scheme. (ie one time pad)
Watches: Nanoha, Haruhi, AzuDai. Listens to: E-Type, Dj Melodie, Nightcore.

iCloud desktop gives you 4gb and Zoho gives you one. Two more to check out.
