Project: Damu
Title
Project: Damu
Description
What is Project: Damu?
Project: Damu is a PHP script that I have been planning for a while that is basically a complete money management tool.
Since my Mum and Dad are having some problems with some money I have decided to put my PHP and Mathematical skills together to create this script.
Language
PHP and MySQL mixed into XHTML and CSS
Additional Info
Where did the name come from?
Does this ring a bell?
Dad and Mum?
What's the point?
Well the point of this is to make it easier for my Mum and Dad to manage their money, it will have different methods and many different pages on working this out.'
Do I need help?
I might need some help when I get an error or something goes wrong, but I won't need any help coding the actual script.
I would really appreciate some suggestions on what to add, change some things, a suggestion on the layout. Any suggestion is much appreciated.
Tested System
Haven't started it yet, asking for suggestions.
Requirements (if any are known)
Not looking for someone to help write the code but if you wish to give advice you must know PHP and MySQL
Source/Binary Attachment
Will release source after it's finished.
License
None - ATM
Operating Systems
Hopefully all.
Features
What have you got planned so far?
Have a page where you enter information on a product brought from the supermarket. Each product will have a unique ID, which category the product is in, what it is, what company makes it, whats the price, when you brought it, when was the last time you brought it, prediction on next time and sale price.
A page that has all this information printed on it so you can search this information. Add some functions that you can sort the information by ID, Name, Category, Date etc.
Another page that works out how much money you have saved from x and/or how much you have lost. Work out the best value between two items and store that in a database which will show on another page for which is better value.
Show a warning page when a product has come close to running out from working out the average of how often you brought.
Todo List
Start to build after reading the book.
Regards,
Brandon
