Before I start, I'd like to express that I'm new and my learning curve for anything that has a syntax is extremely low.
With that said, I may not understand how the CodeCall community works out, nor will I really understand anything you say that
involves Programming, lol. Just wanted to clarify this before the initial thread began.
Anyways, I was referred to Codecall by a member on ModDB.com, in regards to a help wanted ad that I had posted in their forums.
Obviously coming from ModDB, my project is a total conversion modification for the Source'07 (Orange Box) Engine.
To keep this post smaller and tider, information on the project can be found on our project's website - located at Delusion:Source
(I can not hyperlink at the current time due to post count restrictions, my apologies for any inconvenience in advance.)
Added the link ~ Tk
Attached is the current feature list that I threw together for our previous programmer before he left to focus on his primary project, Snowball:Source.
He has started a couple of things already, which I really don't know how to describe what he has and hasn't accomplished as I've mentioned due to my inexperience with programming...
The team has a Subversion Server set up through ModCenter.com to help keep files organized and keep a nice track record on what changes have been made to what files and the sort (basically just what SVN is for, right?)
I understand that while placing this into the Community Projects forum, then that server is rendered basically obsolete for whoever helps. I just wanted to mention that it does exist, since Zeeky (the previous programmer) had uploaded and compiled a experimental .dll for the mod before leaving. So his changes should be somewhere in there for you, the experienced, to understand.
Purpose of the project
Delusion:Source's main purpose is just that to build a decent portfolio with.
Many of the members of the team have interests in entering the game design industry after high school, or some time in the future of their life.
Delusion had originally been concepted as a non-profit project, I would really like to keep it that way, since I'm only 20 years old and I really don't have the cash to dish out like that between bills and the sort :P
I understand that might not be the biggest choice for bringing a seasoned programmer(s) to the team for help, which is why if exactly needed, we can attempt to raise funds for your involvement.
I do believe that this is all I have to say, it's a pretty long post, but I generally am horrible when it comes to coming to new communities asking for help. I feel I have to nit-pick every detail >:|
