These days I have bee working on a program that links to Wireless Zero Configuration and controls your wireless settings. This program has the ability to store large amounts of IP addresses and MAC addresses for each SSID so, when you connect to an Access Point, the program will automatically assign you the IP address, default gateway, DN Servers and change your MAC address to pass through the MAC Filtering of the Access Point. All this stuff is done in less than 10 seconds. The program also can be configured to continue changing the IP address until the gateway ping results alive. You can also make the program to connect to the AP with the strongest signal that is in your database. The program will be running all the time and will automatically do stuff depending on its configuration. There will be a bandwidth meter included too, needed to measure the download and upload speed.

Here is a screenshot of the program’s main dialog:

You may use this program:

  • If your friend gave you access to his wireless network and when you visit him and you have your laptop with you, you don’t have to lose time setting the new configuration.

  • If you pay different HotSpots in different locations

  • To access free Access Points faster.

Now… Do you think that this program cannot be developed because it will me used for illegal proposes?

Best wishes,
Dren

Well, there are tons of softwares our there, like sniffers, they can be used for legal purposes. Then it's up to the user to use it in the way they want. You just state your ToS!

You developed that?

Nice work.

Also there is no reason to stop development because someone could potentially use it for malicious activities.

It isn't illegal to code anything.

As long as it isn't used to break into a secured network, it's not illegal.
Programming is a branch of mathematics.

Using such programs can be illegal if cracking into a secured network, but if you are using it for testing your own network, etc, its fine.

If you are concerned about people using it incorrectly, simply add a disclaimer saying that you hold no responsibility for the use of that program.

Also Nice Work on developing it!

That's interesting. I suppose there are legal uses for programs that act like viruses.

What do you mean by "inherent"? If a program is used for malicious purposes, it's illegal, no?

Dude read what I say, ****.

Inherent means in itself the program is completely legal.

I'm right about this, so yeah you should pretty much stop arguing with me.
