Why do people all over the world prefer .com extension in their domain name?

.com looks professional, and some noobs will see another extenstion and be like WTFHAX, and won't go to your page.

Things like .me and .info and .biz look a bit noobish, as Methodz|Reborn says. However, the other professional method is to use your country extension.
For example, www .example.it if you're in Italy, or www .example.de if you're German. Over here in the UK, we have a slightly different extension, in the form of .co.uk. Of course, we still have .com as well.
Lastly, apprently .com and country extensions are slightly better for SEO.
