I got the welcome PM pointing me to this forum, so I thought I'd come in and say "hi." I'm a very rookie programmer. Actually, I'm not sure I'd even call myself a real programmer, yet.
I studied Java 2 years ago and have slowly been building up since then. I have also taken two semesters of C but haven't done much with C. Right now, I'm dabbling a little in C++ to see if I want to go all out and learn C++ first or C more. I think the C book we used just wasn't very good because I seem to be picking up C++ easier.
One nice thing is I finally have a real project to work on that I'm writing in Java. It's a side project I'm doing for work (long story, short it's a program for doing practice tests).
I've thought about studying VB and C#, but haven't really decided if I'll go through with it. I know a lot of companies want VB/C# skills. My father's an engineer who seems to really like VB for some reason and keeps trying to push me in that direction.
Well, that's enough for now.
New guy here
