Hi
I need to listen to a running application (a running .exe file) till that application calls a certain function or sub so that I can replace my own function or sub instead.
Can anyone help?

That sounds impossible to me.... Unless we are talking about API functions perhaps? You would have to know everything about the function you want to "replace" and.... No... Impossible, I think.. Well, maybe not.... Not easy, that's for sure. +rep to the dude coming up with a solution for this one... :D

Far from being impossible. Depending on exactly what you are trying to do.
1) Subclass the Window.
2) Write and inject a DLL.
3) Patch the application to do so.
