I heard somewhere, that if you drive long enough to work, distance TO work, not driving while you're AT work, you can get gas compensation, anyone heard about this?
I have had like 3 ppl tell me that its the law

I've heard of this and I think I remember seeing it on the tax forms. My wife, who owns her own business as a hair stylist, gets a tax write-off for driving back and forth to work (no matter what the distance).

LoL. All i have to say is cheating the system is a bad idea.
And actually, in the print, you cannot write off mileage from home to your office if you own a business. Only from your office to another location. But who really checks that :P
But seriously, I wouldn't push it. The USGov doesn't play games if you get audited...
