All in the title, I want to hear your opinion on which one gives a better impression.

I realise that I should probably buy a .com, .net, .info, whatever domain - but at the moment I can't find one without the initial set-up cost for a monthly fee.

Thanks,

none, they all look horrible. What do you mean the initial setup cost of a .com or .net? It is $9 for on year....

Over here in the UK, the two most professional are .com and .co.uk, for the global and local sites respectively. It depends where you are, I suppose. For Germany, use .de, for Italy use .it and so on.

None of these are in the least bit professional. Buy a real domain like .com. Complete Web Solutions: domains, hosting, site builders and SSL. or Cheap Domain Registration with Free Masking and Forwarding, Paypal Domain Registration are the best two. You will pay no more than 10 bucks a year.

Rosy, if you sign up on ToastedPenguin.com, you can have your website hosted and a domain for no setup fee.

For a comparison - what would I get in a package with a budget of around $7,50?

My general reaction to a .tk, .co.nr, .co.cc is to expect it to be a scam site (at best). It sets of alarm bells in my head if I see one of those in a link.

co.uk is the equivalent to .com in Europe the last that I knew, so most people are used to it. Try going to youtube.co.uk, it exists with many other huge sites.
