Hey Matt, welcome to CodeCall! Are you interested in desktop development (applications/games) or Web Development?

both actually, I'm starting my BS in Computer Science, and we are going to go over Java, C++, PHP, Python, XML, SQL and a few others. I'm not that point in my courses, but I need to get a head start on it.

To me, PHP is the easiest to start with because its a scripting language. But Your program will likely start you in Java or C++. I'd strongly recommend learning php procedural programming if you have time to spare, then move gently into Object Oriented programming with either PHP or Java.
