Hello all,

I am starting up an IRC Network with a few friends [SlushNet IRC - Home] and as of last night I now have two nodes in the network. Unfortunately, I am h aving trouble finding a load balancer two help control traffic between the two servers. I know they are out there because the big networks have to use something, I just can't find one. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Do you mean sharing the bandwidth or as in combining the two server to share the tasks between them?

Something that will distribute the network load. Basically when a user connects to the server, they connect to the load balancer which redirects them to one of the main servers. it chooses which one based on the current load of each one.

You can cluster your servers using WHM/Cpanel. I'm not sure this applies for IRC servers though. What operating systems are you using?
