The major points related to meta tag keywords are-

1. Mostly all the search engine spiders view the HTML tags of web page.
2. Meta keyword tag gives the idea of how many and which keywords are used in the web page.
3. Meta keyword tag gives the exact and clear scenario of web page to the search engine.

I think that keywords which you have inserted in the Meta keyword tag has to be repeated suitably in the body copy of the web page otherwise if it is not repeated your keyword selection will go in vain.
But now a day’s google is not giving high weight age to meta tags keywords.
So concentrate on content with relevant keywords. And place keywords only at the logical places and not every where.

Thanks for the advice but I believe most of what you've stated is common knowledge among webmasters. Do you have any advice that may not be so well known?
