We were discussing this here but I moved it to a new thread:
http://forum.codecal...ic-browser.html
If you use the IE rendering engine and just make a new GUI to it, and maybe some improvements. Would you define that as a wrapper or a browser?

I moved the posts into this new thread, so we don't flame anyone.. that guy made a tutorial.. we should appreciate it. So here we can discuss anything.

So it isn't a web browser at all then is it? Just a wrapper.

Exactly. It's like the IE-Tab in FF.

Yeah I was pretty sure that was just a wrapper for IE's browser but I didn't know how to say it without flaming.

Well, I said what I had to say, I didn't flame anyone.

All I said was:

Yup, but that is using the IE rendering engine...

Well, I don't see how you could of thought that you coded your own browser while still using another browser. Also, how could you not realize that it isn't a browser when you aren't even parsing HTML?

Very misleading title.

Well, that's the most common word used.. but anyways.. wrapper or not, doesn't make much difference to us.

When someone says they coded a browser, don't you think of a program that can send and receive data using the HTTP and then parse and display HTML? (Basics of a browser)

And when someone says they build a wrapper you think of a GUI or some other topical program that they build on top of someone elses program?

Yup. I totally agree with you, but wrapper isn't used that much...

That's what I said in the first place.
