Sometimes, when I switch off my laptop, put it in my backpack and then go to work, and switch it on, I realize that sometimes the battery was consumed 2% or so. Is this normal? I mean, the laptop is completely and properly shutdown.

Battery leak? Happens all the time... Just think about normal batteries.. Leave them for 12 years (wild guess), and they are empty. But 2% is quite a lot. I don't know how accurate that measurement is, though. Perhaps that's the problem. Being affected by temperature etc...
How much does it consume when switched on (same amount of time)?

So... If it's off at night, while you sleep, does it consume alot then? Or is this just when you travel?

You do not charge it when it don't need it, do you? That's not good for it and might cause the problems you describe (if it can be called problems)

You should always fully charge/discharge in cycles, to keep the battery running smooth. My dad had his power supply in all the time, now the laptop battery's dead.
