My definition is-

Guru- Casual.
Nerd- Person whom is recreationally into Tech.
Geek- Person whom is professionally into Tech.

So for you, a geek IS a nerd... as in those classical funny nerds, with no social life, no friends, never go out of home, something like

IMO, a geek is cooler....

But, when you say professionally working, as in you know your thing and that's it.. or you still carry all those, non-social, no friends and nasty nerdy things?

I think if it's your job, then you're not a nerdy guy with no friends, glasses etc. It's only when you do it as a hobby when the 'nerdiness' kicks in.

The thing is, were you a nerd before you got that job? Did you study 24/7 to get that job?

If you're doing it for a job, it's to do with a profession, so it's not nerdy.
