Well, that uses GPRS, and here it is very expensive.. I can't afford to spend like $20 just to walk a few meters....

Well, if I manage to find a software that has a map of Malta... I will. But it doesn't seem like those software have a map of malta.

Follow Me (GPS Edition) by JGUI
JGUI: FOLLOW ME [GPS EDITION]
This program shows your position and tracks your movements.
Maybe helpful if you are not able to find an actual map of Malta,
You can create a route map of all the streets you do actually travel through at least.
With Malta being a small island with many winding roads, this maybe a better tool then an actual GPS map of Malta...

GPS truck Navigation at TeleType GPS has an aviation program that at least shows the airport(s) including Malta's.

Or: Download FON Access Points for Malta 1.0 for Windows Mobile PocketPC/PalmOS/Linux/Symbian/Windows Mobile Smartphone/Java/Blackberry - Softpedia
And

Track Malta - GPS tracking, mobile, malta, street
should be opening soon.
