I just have a quick question. When someone hooks up a tv to their computer, is it possible to design a program that prevents the DVD or VCR player from working, or recording whatever is on the TV? If no, is it possible to design a program that wont allow the TV to be connected to the computer? Thanks

Keeping the TV from connecting with the TV would not be a hard program to make. However the program would run on the computer, and unless you have some sort of switch which the computer has some input on than your computer has no access to the TV's peripherals or its out data ports. This makes for a very limited scope of what the computer can control. Adjusting any functionality of the DVD/VCR through a computer would require a switch to which all the components were hooked up and the computer has input. If the TV is new enough and has a quality embedded computer I'm sure that there is some way to load software onto it and it would be possible, but not practical. What's the reason for not wanting the DVD or VCR to work?

I just want to make sure none of the streaming videos get recorded via DVD player or VCR. So that's why I was wondering if there is anyway to not allow the TV to hook up to the computer or better yet, not allowing the VCR and DVD player to be usable on the TV.

Bubba, you need to worry about blocking stream content from being copied on the pc before you worry about blocking a tv. I know this, if i visited your site and my 42 inch hdtv monitor quit working I'd be ready to track you down and beat the living crap out of you for manipulating my computer without my permission.
