Does anyone know of a tutorial where I can learn the basics of Flash and Actionscripts? I don't know much about it other than it is to use for animation and is a bit similar to java. Are there other languages that I need to get similar first before jumping into this?

You dont need to know other languages to learn actionscript, here are some good sites for learning AS:

Software training online-tutorials for Adobe, Microsoft, Apple & more - A very good site
gotoAndLearn() - a good site about flash (most AS3.0)
Flashkit - A site with alot of tuts and stuff about ActionScript.
