I don't have a site so nope I haven't done it before but I've seen other sites do it. I don't know if it's any good for SEO or not but i find it quite amusing. :)

It is the Adengage you and I were talking about on IM. I signed up as a publisher and an advertiser. I bout ad space and setup the code to display ads. Turns out by doing so I paid to advertise on my own site. It isn't intentional and is mainly just a joke.

If you put a text link to yourself on your website, I think that helps a little, but the point of advertising is to bring people to your site, so if they are already there, I think doing this defeats the purpose.

Yeah it was kind of amusing, although this one site that I go purchased graphic ads to advertise itself and their the only ads that ever show up so it's rather strange lol
