There are a lot of reports about antivirus programs.
All of which are bias.
Lets create our own and find out which one is better
Post here how much memory it uses, which one you are using, and/or anything that you want to let us know about ie comments or links to other reports etc.
PLEASE FOLLOW THE STEPS
1.Open task manager without opening your antivirus,
2.Show processes from all users,
3.Arrange processes by name,
4.Add the memory usage of the files that your antivirus is using,
5.Find out your antivirus version,
6.POST IT HERE!
For a Start:
MEMORY usage : 148+284+12600+692+2640 = 16,364 K
I am using : Avast 4.7 Pro
Keep this post live!! and if you want post more than once ie at different tasks!
Research takes 2 seconds! Avast, AvG, Kasperi, Norton, BitDefender ?

I can't honestly be expected to weigh up my antivirus' memory usage. Instead, I'm just giving my comments.
It is strongly unrecommended to ever disable your antivirus, which should be running by default, all the time. So it's very unwise to disable it, even for a short time. :)

TCM Before you jump to conclusions, you should have asked 2 questions before you started making things a bit personal.
Simmer, are you wanting us to close the AV Program? and add stuff up? if so, there is no need. I can see how your post somewhat confused Xav

Well... you are saying that because I edited my post. Xav replied to my original post (well.. seems like he wanted to start another useless argument) so I edited my post and took action to make that 'useless argument' stop right there.. and not ending up arguing about something else.

I'm also using AVG 7.5 free, but am thinking about switching to COMODO when it gets out of beta.

No one here uses avira? Check out avcomparatives. They are pretty unbiased. Avira is top rated fro last three years. Previously it was kaspersky..
