This continued from this thread.. because it kinda got offtopic but it's a good point, so I decided to move them to a new thread.

Basically here we are talking about why people are not giving rep.

What you mean lol? I gave you 36 positive rep points, because I have a rep power of 36, so when I give someone +/- rep that would be +/-36 rep points.

I know, but I was wondering why you gave me rep. After all, I can't remember giving any useful advice on this thread!

And how come I'm still stuck on one rep bar, even though you gave me 36 points?

Well you are stuck with one bar for now.. you need much more points to go to 2, I have 278 points, and I only have 3 bars.

And I gave you +rep because I am a moderator, and one of our tasks in here is to spread rep, give rep if some member made a good 'action' and encourage people to give rep to others. Besides that the rep that Sparrow gave you didn't serve to anything.. because his rep power is 0, therefore you earned 0 points from him.

I know you're a moderator, and all that - I was just wondering what I posted that deserved 36 points.

Thanks for it, anyway! How many points do I need to get 2 bars?

I think that you need 76 points (because every bar is 75 I think)

And well, as long as you helped other members you are eligible to +rep :) even if it was not a huge code.. it's still help.

I have helped people lots in the past... but I rarely get accredited for it. Once I helped a newbie out by presenting a whole page of code out, that took me almost an hour to debug (see the thread here), but I never got any rep.

So, if you click the link and see my response, you'll see I helped out a lot... and then, once I've helped out a lot, you know what that means...

P.S. Please....

Lol, Number one.. don't beg for rep, and number 2 I can't give you rep again.. forum won't let me. Besides that.. see my profile, see my post count, see my posts, and see how much people I helped, and I only got 3 bars.. if ONLY 50% of the people whom I helped gave me +rep, I would have like all bars full.
But that's life... most people don't give a .... as long as you gave them what they wanted.

Sorry, I didn't mean to beg (but I did really...). I can understand your frustration at only having 3 bars - I suppose you sort of have quite a lot of posts under your name...

Harumph! Isn't life unfair?

Well it is a little unfair, but whatever... I'm still a boss around here :p

So that's quite enough for reputation, a mod is always a trusted person IMO.
