I am trying to find what language to do a program that would update a database of prices based off of other sites on the internet. I would like it to run on my server and maybe update at specific times of the day on its own although that is not really a must. Im not sure what direction to go with this can anyone point me in the right direction. I am new and this is a hobby site im working on.

Try learning PHP from W3Schools Online Web Tutorials. It's a server-side scripting language that can be used to build a database.
