Hello i am a computer geek wannabe. right now i am looking on youtube on different tricks on how to use cmd or command prompt. for example, type "ping <insert web address here>" you can find the alternate site to use to search a website (better than proxies i think).

Hello, Ed! It's me, Xav, the guy you met in Computer Club today! You know, the guy who showed you this website!

Edwin, how comes you're looking on YouTube for command prompts? There must be better sites out there. Try Windows XP/2000 Commands and Tools.

Here's some commands to start you off:

mspaint
sol
mshearts
fsquirt

Try typing those in to cmd and see what happens!

They are all just shortcuts which can easily be used to open by using the "run" program

OK, Mr. I Know Everything About CMD, try this one:

ipconfig

It's seriously cool - and it's NOT a program! It's a command!

For a list of commands, try typing "help".

Hello shadow2bold, welcome to CodeCall! .bat files are fun but if you like command prompt you should try using Linux and start shell scripting.
