Hi - My name is Hilary, and I'm new here.


After a break of a few years, I'm getting back into computing and electronics for personal use.

I design control circuits for oil rigs and such like. Boring, ok, mostly boring stuff.

I like travel.

I'm 50.

Well, that's me.

Hi Jordan!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I'm mainly interested in VB. As I said above, I'm a little rusty after a break; I'm running VB5 on Visual Studio.

Yes, I'm know - a little rusty! I need a project to get into. Something practical, like home automation.

Clearly the way to go is USB to drive/ read some I/O. (This is were my work skills come in usefull).

It might be that I need to upgrade from VB5 to 2005. Do you have any thoughts about that, please, Jordan?


(Hardware - I'm running Vista on a HP laptop)
