Hi: I have donwnloaded XAMPP.zip and unppaked directly in the root of a pendrive, but when trying to start it i get the message ## PACHE = MSQL IS STARTING NOW ##

and nothing more happens just it does not start and i have to stop the program.

Any idea what the problem could be?

Interesting idea to install it on a thumb-drive. I may do that for my installation although I use WAMP. Are you trying to use XAMP for Linux, Windows or OS X?

The binary (not installer) distrobution works fine on my drive. Even works on a virtual distributed filesystem, just fine. The paths have not only normally illegal characters in the filename, but spaces as well.

Me thinks you don't know how to edit the config file oO

Hi again: i tried with wamp and i got it to work, its running and it seems to be working OK, then i can start testing at the same what i am learning:).

I have windows vista, i want to do two things now install joomla 1.5.1 and go ahead with the building and testing of the template, the only problem i have is that the pendrive is just 2GB maybe not enough space.
