Recently I have been getting this error in FireFox using the Alexa plugin:
#Ty,peE,rro,r: ,doc, ha,s n,o p,rop,erties
This appears in the bottom right of my screen. Is it just me or is this a problem with the plugin?

I'm wondering if this is a Java error? Is that plug in Java and do you know a way to change the version of Java that FF runs?

I have no idea I think that you can simple install the newer version of Java or perhaps read this?:
PluginDoc: Java FAQ
... but what version are you running? I'm running Java Plug-in 1.6.0_03
