Does social bookmarking work for SEO? Or only for traffic and Alexa?

Yes, Social bookmarking helps in SEO.

The only thing is.. if the link you bookmarked is usually stored in a PR0 page.. how can it help for PR?

It is still a link and the PR of that page could increase.... PR and SEO shouldn't be mixed because PR has nothing to do with where you rank for your search term and that is what SEO is all about.

Yeah I know... so it helps in SEO but not in PR ( I bet you gotta be super lucky for that page to get a PR )

Only very few social network sites work for SEO. Because most of the sites use "rel=nofollow" tag. This tag will not help you to get back link.

Yea i will agree with Steve,

most of social book marking sites has started to use Nofollow so we cann't get PR Juice or any benifits but there is some very useful sites availble for soc. book marking.and its very helpful in traffic and back links.

let me know if any users want to lists of Soc. book marking sites so i will put here.

They are still a lot soc. bookmarking website that use dofollow and in my opinion SE still give much more value to link from soc. bookmarking site than for example directories or sites that collect articles.
I will give for SERP value from soc. bookmarking site on 1-10 scale, grade 8.

Hi

As far as i learn in my carrer, Dir submission and Articles always ahead in the terms of Seach engine value. Search engine gives value to article and dir submission and yes Link exchange as well. Social bookmarking always keep the edge for the its traffic. But really they did not help in the search engine ranking.
