Well would you consider a smartphone a PDA or it's just a smartphone? And is a PocketPC a PDA? or Not? Becase at school the lecturer told us that a PocketPC has an OS while a PDA might not.. and he confused me. What you think?

I always thought that a PDA was a device (Personal Digital Assistant) and could range from from iPAQs, iPhones to address booklets (anything that "assists" you). I also thought that PDA was a general term rather than specific to one device. I can see the difference in a smartphone (regular phone, non-PDA style) and a PDA. With that said, I'm at a loss.

Ow so that is what he meant by 'not having an OS' he meant that it might only run an 'OS' (firmware?) that does only the task it was designed to.. Thanks for clearing a little bit. And so you agree that a smartphone is NOT a PDA?
