Hi all
I have a CD that I downloaded as an ISO and then recorded a cd from that and works up to the point of starting the partitioning. All the instructions from Ubunto talk about dual booting with XP or Vista. I have an older machine with Windows ME already on it. I would like to install Ubuntu as a dual boot.Nothing seems to work, the instructions said use Manual when I came to the partitioning page. Cannot get anything to open. Stuck on page 4 of instructions. Just point me to where I need to look.
Thanks

Can you tell me the exact version of Ubuntu you tried to install.
And btw, I cannot guarantee anything to do with ME,

I only tried with Win XP SP 2.

To get it to work with Windows I'd first wipe the HDD, then partition using a bootable partitioner. Install Windows first on the very first partition on the drive. Then install Ubuntu in the remaining space.

Alternatively, you can partition your HD with software such as Partition Magic instead of wiping it clear first.

I would not suggest Partition Magic, it crazed up my system when I used it, and I had to format and re-install everything.
