How often do you upgrade your machine?
I try to upgrade twice a year - its been quite a while since my last upgrade and I've got my eye on some 8800 graphics cards They'll be expensive though
I try to keep my machine at the front of the curve, mostly because my job requires me to be able to run some pretty demanding software at home.
How often do you upgrade?

usually once a year if the budget allows for it.
I have found that the new macbook pro seems to have quite a life in it though. for example, when OSX leopard is released in October it is a 64bit OS and all the mb pros already have 64bit processors. And apples OS is significantly cheaper than any windows OS.
with vmware fusion i have a windows machine too... works real well.

:D When things work the way they should it's a wonderful thing! It's the should part that gets me.

I upgrade the software as soon as I find out about it (except for IE7). As for hardware, I upgrade as I get the opportunity.

I upgrade once my computer starts not working so good like every 3 years maybe since alot of new updates, errors, software, hardware, and many other things develop over the months.

I upgrade the softwares as soon as I find out there is an update, I update windows sometimes.. perhaps once in every six months, and as for the computer.. It depends.

I tend to upgrade when something breaks, or something no longer meets my "needs". Unfortunately, it looks like my motherboard bit it a week or so ago, so I guess it's time to upgrade my 4-5 year old computer.

Honestly, I haven't been upgrading my computer yet. But it's also only about one year old, so it haven't been required yet. I usually always update software, if the software have some kind of self-updating-service, if it hasn't I never do.

It's not needed to Upgrade the Computer very often, why to spend many money to buy a nVidia Geforce 8800GX or other, soo it's not needed.
You can Upgrade your Computer when you think you need to upgrade it, cos' a not Upgraded Computer doesn't mean that you can't play with that or to work with that.
Many people in World use old Computers why?
Cos' they don't have money to Upgrade them but, they still can use it.
So Upgrade isn't much important, your knowalage is more important, I say. =)
