Do you want a wysiwyg? I suggest using Dreamweaver - very simple and very effective.

The great thing about Dreamweaver is that it is not only user-friendly for the novice users, but it also has a plethora of functionality for the expert users.

Thats the only HTML / PHP editor I've used to develop my software for the past four years.

I am using dreamweaver, but knows only the basics of webpage creation. I want to learn more on this software. Are there any free tutorials with illustrations offered on some websites?

Dreamweaver is no doubt the best, but I suggest looking into the studio version(not sure what the newest version is) that comes with Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, and Coldfusion. If you can learn these tools then you will one bad@$$ web developer

Thank you for the advice and suggestions. But I am not all good in designing nor coding. I want to learn atleast Dreamweaver MX in a step-by-step manner thoroughly. With Dreamweaver itself, we can do a lot of things related to web page creation. My requirements are very limited.

I learned Dreamweaver by simply going through the tutorials. Do all the lessons and ACTUALLY FOLLOW ALONG by doing what they are showing you, and you will learn everything you need to do to create competitive websites. I suggest finding a free site template, and working from there.
