I gave Joomla 1.5 install a shot - just for the record, it installs fine and looks like it functions on the active website but most of the configuration toolbar is missing from the config screens, and the only setup screen that can be accessed is the main config - the category and file setup screens are inaccessible - clicking those links always takes you back to the main config screen...
If Joomla 1.5 is "the new thing" looks like there is some work to be done... I'll be excited to see it working on the new version.
