What methods work best for you? I've tried the reciprocal link thing and most of the sites I trade with simply remove my link after 2 or 3 months. Purchasing links is too costly. Link Farms and FFAs are out of the question. Any more ideas?

i am constantly looking for new sites to trade links with. I also post on a lot of sites with my link in my signature. and i will very occasionally purchase a text link or banner ad if the site looks busy and is relevant to my site content

So Link Exchange? I've tried that and actually had 500 linkbacks registered in google. The problem I tend to see is that webmasters will remove your link without telling you. Do you run into this?

I also see a lot pay-per-links removing my link. The best practice here is to pay monthly and check bi-monthly.....

Any more ideas?

I would recommend you making your link in your signature when posting in forums. That will earn you some extra links.

You do run into a lot of problems when you trade or purchase links but you could always go through a link purchasing company like Text-Link-Ads which will manage this kind of thing for you. The only thing is the price is higher.

Don't forget to submit your website to all the directories and search engines. Directories are free links back to your site.

I had read that article submissions are a great way to get better SEO and build links but I never really knew what it was even after searching.

My website has been open 4 months now and I am at PR 2 at the moment which I was pretty shocked about, I am on a few sites

Linkalizer
Link 2 Me

These 2 sites are where you register submit your forum and then the exchanges will come to you in email you add their link and they will do the same back once you have added theirs or on odd occasions it will be the other way round.

I have also found that having my url in my signature on forums that I regularly go on helps alot, but I tend not to do alot of link exchanges to be honest especially paid ones due to as said above webmasters removing your url without informing you first.
