Well, I know, this is something nearly impossible, but let's say that Microsoft distributes the open source, what do you think will happen? Will the product be better? Just curious to see....

The Windows 2000 source code was leaked about 2 years ago. I'm not sure what would change but a billion variations of Windows would probably pop-up.

As Jordan said, many different Windows variations would probably come, but the official Windows, by Microsoft, wouldn't change much, I think. They'll probably continue in the way that they always do.

Would you think that it will be secure as Linux is? or it will still remain the same?

As I said, I think the Windows-team will continue as it always have done, but they'll probably take some few suggests from outside, to improve the Windows as operating system.

If you're thinking about the Windows variations (there maybe will come), then yes, I think they'll be more secure. They'll be a big base of users, there'll contribute to the projects. But of course, I can't look into the future, it's only what I think there'll happen.

Simple question & answer.
"What if windows went open source...I'd have a heart attack and wouldn't care after that."

And why would that be? For me actually it doesn't make any difference, if it will be open source or not, as it doesn't actually interest me as I'm not in that area. But I think perhaps that would be the time where Microsoft things will work properly.
