Not many people consider radio ads as a means of advertising, but as long as you have a bit of money, it is easy to accomplish. It usually costs $150-$250per ad during prime hours, and around $25 after midnight. To run an ad one time is wasteful unless your business/site is really viral, so you'll need at least $2,000. Or, you can run it an night for a lot cheaper, but usually only about 2,000 people are listening. I actually haven't run an ad yet, but I'm talking to a radio salesman guy and we are working it out.

I don't know about most of you but I only listen to the radio in my car. If I heard an ad for a website in my car it would be hard for me to remember that URL because I wouldn't write it down. I don't think Radio Ads are the best for website advertisement.....

It all depends on location, country and listener base.
I would say its a pretty weak way to advertise a website, 'as' majority of people listening to a commercial radio station, are:
a) driving
b) ironing
c) in the garden with the radio on loud
Thats the vast majority of listeners today, and in none of them 3 situations are people gonna want to whip their laptop out, or dive on the computer just to take a look at a website. While this does happen, if majority are not doing it, I see it as pointless.
On the other hand, if you target an INTERNET radio station (shoutcasted) then people are obviously already on their computers to listen to it, so you might stand a better chance, but shoutcast stations are limited on listeners due to bandwidth and again, country, listener base and times are essential in choosing which station/slot.

You have to advertise your ad a lot if you want people to go to your site. And yes, if it's a website, and not just branding, you need to do a lot more.
