There are quite a few free domains out there, but obviously they are not used by big name companies and websites. I'm relatively new to the whole "hosting world" and was wondering what the best free domains are available? I have used .co.nr, .tk. and .cjb.net before and am looking for an alternative, if there are any better ones.

There aren't any "good" free domain name extentions. They are just not attractive, plus $8.00 a year for a .com really isn't that much.

You can even get domains by many other ways these days.
But I prefer paying for it.

Just collect some money, and get it from namecheap or some other place.

About free domains, afraid.org is th best
and also uni.cc

You can go to http://www.ddboard.com and get free domains. You have to get 2000 points for a .com domain, but making a thread is 15 points and replying is 1 points. There are tons of ways to get points!

You can go to Domain Discussion Board - Powered by vBulletin and get free domains. You have to get 2000 points for a .com domain, but making a thread is 15 points and replying is 1 points. There are tons of ways to get points!

EDIT: There was some sort of error and my post was submitted two times. Sorry.

Looks like you have to make a lot of posts to get that .com, but I suppose if you just post naturally it will all work out.

All free domains suck and they don't get any respect. Now .coms, if you want respect, then, you will get... moderate respect... with that.

The only free domains I had heard of before this board were .co.nr and .tk.

I've only used .co.nr.

But, obviously, top-level domains are noticed more.

Well I would not trust these, as I used them for 2 of my websites, but they are not good! I would go for a .info domain, acts normally and you can find some for just $0.99, they are that cheap! nearly free.

Where would you go to register a .info domain?

And is it $0.99 per month or per year?
