I used Filezilla until I figured out that (using Ubuntu Linux) I could connect to my server and access it through Nautilus (the file browser) just like I would any other folder. Pretty sweet.

I am using Ipswitch WS FTP Pro 2007 for my ftp file transfer. I have used a lot but this is best software in the whole world and I can challenge that. lol...

Cheers.

I tend to just use a windows my network places drive connection most of the time. For Linux/Unix transfers I use Filezilla - I never use automatic FTP tools like in dev studio's cos I like to be in control of whats going up ;-)

This is a very old thread; JGRobinson should not have revived it.

Since I'm hear, the best free FTP software used to be SmartFTP. It was twice as good as FileZilla - it had an excellent GUI and browsers.

Not so long ago the free version became commercial and I am too stingy to buy anything.

Therefore, FileZilla FTW.

SmartFTP is amazing (much better than FileZilla) but it is no longer free.
