I wanted to see if anyone is generating income from their sites (ads, text links, affiliate ads, etc). If yes can you please post your site here and tell a little bit about the type of marketing/promotion/advertising your are doing to generate this income.

Thanks in advance for the info

I do, from this forum, but not much and certainly not enough to live off of. I think it takes years for a site to grow large enough to generate large amounts of income.

Jordan, I have a question about the automatic text link ads that come up in posts. To me this is a really maddening and frustrating script that changes what I am trying to say in posts. Most times I really just want to list a link to a site and NOT the automatic name for the site that comes up, etc.
So my question to you is this - are you making money off this feature on this site. I have seen the same thing on sites in the past, but almost always it has been removed because it is a turn off to members, who become frustrated having pop up links every time they mouse over words in a post.
Just curious.

That actually makes the most money but the figures are still very low. I think the in text advertisement is a good an effective way to advertise and the user does not have to see the advertisement unless he/she puts their mouse on it. Anyone can donate (as little as they like) and remove all ads on the site as well.

I dont think banner ads will be removed as you paid for the banner didnt you ?
And who cares a lot about just a banner that is there on the top without disturbing anyone.

It is better than textlink ads anyway.

I have text-link-ads on my site and nobody has purchased them. I want them to, but they won't. It's frustrating.

I sell text links manually through DigitalPoint.com. I've sold a few but now I've bumped my thread five times and no new responses!

I think that Google Ads are the easiest way to display ads on a web site and earn some revenues, even if you have then to trust Google that they are fair with you. Then the real challenge is to have a high traffic web site ;o)

Yes high-traffic is hard to attain. I just started promoting a new website and I hope that works out.

1) what is the new site you are promoting?
2) what are you doing to promote it.
