Nah they are not,
Its only for people who buy their hosting for 1 or 2 years and there are a lot of these now. Just promoting their webhost and the domain will be only to be used with their host.

It is just the same as the offers from other companies where you get a domain free for buying any other offer.

Well..if you had to buy a domain name.. How much extra would you have to pay.. You can't have everything free..

I don't know about their charge, but you seemed to be spent a little higher on the name. Since it could be bought just less than $ 9.00.

I don't mind spending a few bucks on a domain or hosting..but then again I have some money in the bank.. It's harder for people who are younger to afford such prices;)

Virtually everyone does that now. They couple hosting with the domain sales. That is how godaddy got so huge and is now the biggest company like that out there. This is now the norm, not an exception.
