Blogger and wordpress rocks man and I don't trust others.
But you can't edit much by these, you must host your Blog yourself for easy-use and for customization.

I never used. Better install it with your self, isn't hard :) You will get FTP access and acces all edit options ;)

I never know a free blog-host that gives FTP Access. I know this can lead to many problems. Too risky to implement.
