I found a fun and easy way to learn java a few months back.

About a year ago i played a game called runescape.I quit ages ago , but i found a website that lets you make your own server , and it's programmed in java.

The best thing about it is , you can invite other people to your server , and show off your coding skills.

The community is extremely nice , and you can find lots of tutorials.

http://moparscape.org <- web client
http://moparscape.org/moparscape.html <- desktop client (best)
http://moparscape.org/smf <- forums

Good luck.

P.S if it's not in the right place please don't blame me :( i'm new.

You have to program it , and you make your own runescape server , you have to add things to do etc.

If you download it then you can edit the files to add things , this is a way to learn java as thats what its programmed in.

Thanks for pointing this out. I myself am new at coding...I know very little.

My dream job would be getting into game development and after hearing a talk from one of the programmers that works with Second Life, he talked about getting as much hands on programming with game mods and things of that nature.

I'm not going to bother with it for now but once I start coding a little more I plan on checking this out a little more.

Thanks.
