Does anyone here know if there is a "generic" version of the Adobe Reader that allows you to read and write in the pdf file without the cost of the Adobe Acrobat?

Nice find Tcm9669! I was going to suggest getting the free "Print to PDF" driver but I see you beat me to it.

I don't want to write a file..I want to be able to edit one that comes to me. For example, someone sends me an application to fill out in Adobe. If I don't pay for the upgraded Adobe, I can't write in the application; only look at it. So, duh, I am asking: Are other readers compatible with files that come in Adobe format and also are there free ones that enable you to edit the files that come in adobe although they are not the Acrobat Reader!?

Now thats a different question! To EDIT is different from to WRITE! you could have said that!

Techni some things are best not repeated..I think that if you don't know the answer to something it's best to look it up on a search engine..Sometimes more can be found there.
