I use the Tripod page builder..I would never be able to do my page without it..is anyone familiar with it. ? If I wanted to put some background music into it, how would I do it? Also are there places where you can actually download free music?

Don't do it! Music will create a negative view towards your page resulting in less visits!

Well depends, if it will be background music I don't think it's worth it, but if it will be just music for download well then it's ok!

yes, I like to hear music too and a background music really adds up something for Offline stuff, but for websites, this is not good. Believe me as I have used this myself and know the bad results.

Simple solution, do not use music! If people really want to listen to music, they'll listen to the radio! I get bugged when I visit sites with audio in the background, it uses up broadband usage and slows down the loading speed on dial up. Do not do this, this is basically committing suicide!

Amen! I especially cant stand visiting a website with music that makes my ears bleed. I have my website riged so users can choose their genera of music and if they want it to load or not load when they log in. If setup correctly it can generate positive feed back.

If you really want to use music, use a midi format file.
And the problem is, when people find it not good, they simply close the site.
And that may seriously affect the site.

I think Music should only be used for a Splash screen.

You mean as a background music of a good flash intro?
