I went to my dad's work today to shadow in the Information Systems department. It was very fun; the network admin showed me around, and some of the stuff she showed me was stuff that we worked on in my networking class, and I got to see some cool software. I would try to get an internship there, but it's an hour away from my house (my dad drives an hour to get to his work!)

Thats not a bad drive. You will need the experience before you work as an Network Admin. I know companies that could really care less about education as long as you have solid background and 5+ years of experience. I know of two of our network guys that never got a college degree.
